Assistant/Associate Professor/Clinical Specialist – Pharmacogenomics

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor/Clinical Specialist for site development activities, clinical practice, and experiential education program-related activities at Fairview Pharmacy Services/University of Minnesota Health (MHealth) in Minneapolis, MN. This is an annually renewable, 100% time, non-tenure track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The position involves joint accountability within Fairview Pharmacy Services and to the College of Pharmacy, with responsibilities split approximately half and half.

The primary responsibilities for this position include the development of pharmacogenomics service for Fairview/MHealth, as well as related clinical education activities at Fairview/MHealth. The faculty member will also have educational responsibilities at the College of Pharmacy. Site-related activities include collaboration with physician groups, laboratory science, the laboratory of medicine and pathology, and pharmacy services (details provided below). Scholarly activity is expected and time for this work is allocated within the distribution of effort outlined for this position. The individual in this position will be encouraged to participate in governance and service activities within the college, and, eventually, at the national level.

The position will report to their department chair for all college-related activities, and will also have a reporting relationship to the Director of Pharmacy at The University of Minnesota Health (MHealth) for clinical activities. Both The University of Minnesota Health (MHealth) and the College of Pharmacy will participate in annual evaluations, which will be based on the extent to which the person is meeting the goals and responsibilities established jointly for his/her performance. The College of Pharmacy department head will be responsible for faculty development and assessment of faculty performance.

Qualifications for this position include a Pharm.D. and must be eligible for or are currently licensed as a pharmacist in Minnesota. Completion of a residency and established expertise in pharmacogenomics are preferred. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications.
