Tenured or Tenure-Track Faculty Position
Quantitative Macromolecular Therapeutics
Department of Pharmaceutics

The Department of Pharmaceutics, College of Pharmacy, at the University of Minnesota,
invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or
Associate Professor (tenured) specializing in quantitative and/or modeling-based approaches
to macromolecular therapeutics. Exceptional candidates in other areas of pharmacokinetics
and quantitative drug delivery will also be considered.

The Department of Pharmaceutics has three areas of research emphasis: pharmacokinetics;
pharmaceutical materials science and engineering; and biomaterials and drug delivery

who will further enhance research and teaching in the department and develop synergies with
current areas of departmental strength. The College of Pharmacy provides an excellent
environment for professional advancement and is ranked as the second top pharmacy school
in the nation, being third in research funding. The University of Minnesota, including the
Academic Health Center with over 1,400 faculty members in basic and applied biomedical
disciplines, is a highly integrated research environment, with close proximity of health
sciences, basic sciences and engineering. Infrastructure and opportunities for collaboration
are exceptional.

Requirements for this position include an earned doctorate (Ph.D. or equivalent) in
pharmaceutics, biomedical or biological engineering, or similar field and preferred
completion of a post-doctoral research fellowship with research expertise in quantitative
macromolecular therapeutics. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a
vigorous, externally-funded research program; have a commitment to professional and
graduate education; and develop collaborative research programs. Faculty rank is dependent
on the candidate’s qualifications and experience consistent with departmental, collegiate and
University policy. To be considered for an Associate Professor position, the candidate should
have established a nationally recognized research program.
