The College of Pharmacy at Western New England University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice in the area of Internal Medicine at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. This 12-month position in the area of Acute Care at the Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor level offers an exciting teaching opportunity in an integrated and innovative learner-centered academic program. This candidate should possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and a strong commitment to teaching, service, and scholarship. The successful candidate will be responsible for didactic and/or laboratory-based teaching and the development of a practice site at Mercy Medical Center based on their area of expertise and hospital need. These could include transitions of care, medical and surgical care, and respiratory care, to name a few. Mercy Medical Center is an acute-care, community hospital located in Springfield, MA offering a wide range of services. The hospital plans to start medical and pharmacy residency programs in 2018 to become a community-based, teaching hospital.

Applicants must have a Pharm.D. degree, completed a post-doctoral PGY-1 residency OR a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a health care setting and be eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. A PGY-2 residency in a specialty area is preferred. Prior experience as a faculty member at a school/college of pharmacy is desirable, as is demonstrated strength in teaching. The successful candidate will be required to conduct practice site development and maintenance; direct patient-centered care; teach in area of expertise; precept learners; conduct scholarly activity; and perform service to the College/University, community, and clinical site.
