Assistant/Associate PhD with PharmD (Tenure Track) Faculty Position (No. 05-180-101)

The PHSR Department at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy seeks applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor. Candidates must possess both PhD and PharmD degrees and have teaching and research interests consistent with the department’s mission to improve health among diverse populations through health services and other drug-related research, education, service and community outreach. Our PHSR faculty members focus their research on comparative effectiveness and patient-centered outcomes research (CER/PCOR), policy, law, pharmacoepidemiology, social/behavioral science, and pharmacoeconomics. Candidates should have a health services research background, with particular emphasis on epidemiology and/or CER/PCOR. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated empirical skills, relevant teaching experience, and a history of or a strong potential for research funding and peer-reviewed publications commensurate with position rank.

Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: a) mentoring and teaching within the School’s Doctor of Pharmacy and PHSR Department’s PhD graduate programs; b) developing interdisciplinary research collaborations with colleagues within the School of Pharmacy, as well as with colleagues in the other professional schools across campus; and c) contributing to the growth and expansion of the PHSR Department and the School.

The successful candidate will report to the Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research. This faculty appointment could commence as early as Fall 2018 or sooner. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading, multidisciplinary faculty. Review of applications will begin on Friday, April 6, 2018 and continue until the position is filled. Interested candidates must apply online through the UMB Online Recruitment System and submit an initial application that includes a letter of interest (reference Position Number 05-180-101), a current curriculum vitae (signed and dated), statement of teaching philosophy, statement of research philosophy, and full contact information for three references.
