Description: The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Augusta University is seeking applicants from all academic ranks to fill a position as an educator to advance the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) UME mission within the department and as part of interdisciplinary education initiatives, job opening ID 14818. We seek creative, innovative educators who will contribute uniquely to the educational team at MCG. For this position, preference will be given to applicants with experience teaching therapeutics and pharmacotherapy. The majority of the effort will be for educational activities and teaching in Pharmacology. This position has a partial assignment defined jointly by the Department Chair and the Senior Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education for educational activities to include educational research, interdisciplinary education, small group teaching, and other potential education opportunities. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all academic, scholarly, and service functions within the department and university.
- Doctoral degree (Pharm D, Ph.D., MD, or equivalent)
- Expertise and teaching experience in Therapeutics, Pharmacotherapy, and related disciplines
- Significant experience in undergraduate medical and/or pharmacy education or other health sciences-related educational programs
- Pharm D, or Pharm D., Ph.D. degree (s)
- Experience in:
o Educational research
o Faculty development
o Curricular design
o Use of educational technology
o LCME Self-Study and accreditation or similar processes
- External candidates are preferred
Reporting: Faculty member will report to the departmental chair.
Search Committee: Faculty candidates will be reviewed by an interdisciplinary search committee for positions within academic departments.
