Postdoc/ Research Scientist- Image-Guided Cancer Therapy

The Laboratory of Targeted Therapeutics in the Department of Pharmaceutics at Rutgers University is seeking a scientist at the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow or higher for a full-time appointment in Piscataway, New Jersey (Rutgers Busch Campus). The campus is located 30 minutes south of New York City. ONLY applications from applicants who are currently in the United States will be accepted.

Project Description: We are looking for a highly motivated researcher to work on a translational research project funded by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH). The research project is focused on the development of targeted therapeutic systems for image-guided cancer therapy. The prime objective of this research is to develop a therapeutic protocol that can effectively kill both differentiating cancer cells and cancer stem cells and demonstrate not only eradication of the primary tumors but also inhibition of relapse.

Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must have a PhD, preferably in one of the following disciplines: Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Cancer Biology, or related field. The candidate must have experience with ultrasound-based imaging of mice and xenograft tumor models in mice. Experiences with Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Focused Ultrasound System (FUS), Drug Delivery, Nanotechnology/ Nanomedicine, Molecular and Cell Biology techniques are a plus. Fluency in speaking and writing English is required. Candidate must have a desire to learn new techniques, write manuscripts/reports/protocols, train students and be able to work independently. The applicant must be able to multitask and interested in contributing to several other ongoing projects in the lab.

Salary: Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
