The Immune Engineering Lab at the University of Kansas (www.dekoskylab.org) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to apply high-throughput immune repertoire analysis techniques for rapid antibody discovery and to investigate the immune response to viral vaccines and infections. These projects are funded by a 5-year NIH Early Independence Award grant to Dr. Brandon DeKosky that began in January 2017.

We seek individuals who are passionate about uncovering the mechanisms of adaptive immune protection and leveraging that knowledge to develop novel preventative and therapeutic strategies. Required qualifications include a Ph.D. at the time of appointment or soon thereafter in immunology, biochemistry, biotechnology, bioinformatics, microbiology, or a related field. Preference will be given to researchers with experience in molecular biotechnology, immune response analyses, and/or the study of infectious diseases.

The University of Kansas (KU) is a major research university with a special strength in the development and commercialization of vaccines and therapeutic proteins. The KU School of Pharmacy is consistently ranked as one of the top five pharmacy programs in the nation by NIH funding. The DeKosky laboratory interacts with the Higuchi Biosciences Center, the Kansas Vaccine Institute, and the Center for Computational Biology, which are leading research centers at KU in the biological sciences. The DeKosky lab also supports collaborations with NIH, Columbia-NYC, The University of Minnesota, and other institutions. KU is located in Lawrence, Kansas, about 40 miles from Kansas City. Lawrence is a progressive and cosmopolitan university city of around 100,000 people, with vibrant art, music, and sports scenes. Outstanding candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. DeKosky for more information at dekosky@ku.edu

To apply, submit curriculum vitae, cover letter, and the names and contact information for three professional references to http://employment.ku.edu/staff/8873BR
Review of applications begins on June 1, 2017 and continues until position is filled. To ensure consideration, apply before the application review date.
