The Sun Lab is seeking motivated candidates with interests in the area of drug delivery, molecular imaging, or nanomedicine for a full-time postdoctoral research position in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, OSU/OHSU College of Pharmacy. Our research is focused on biomedical applications of nanotechnology with several projects spanning materials synthesis and characterization to in vitro and small animal in vivo studies. As an interdisciplinary group, we are looking for creative individuals, who are excited by a collaborative research experience and are motivated by opportunity to work in areas beyond their own technical expertise. Our laboratory is housed in the Collaborate Life Sciences Building (http://www.ohsu.edu/xd/about/vision/collaborative-science-building.cfm) on Portland’s beautiful South Waterfront.

Applicants should be recent graduates with a doctoral degree (MD, PhD or equivalent) in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, bioengineering, or related discipline. Successful candidates should also possess strong analytical and communication skills, including a record of scholarly writing. Candidates with experience in cancer research or biomedical imaging techniques, such as MRI, optical, and radioisotopic imaging modalities are also highly encouraged to apply.

The duties and responsibilities for this position include:

1) Materials synthesis & characterization
2) Tissue culture & cell-based biological assays
3) Animal handling
4) Data collection & analysis
5) Preparation of results for presentation & publication
6) Training, directing, & mentoring students and support personnel
