The Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences aims to improve the health and wellbeing of our local, national and global communities through excellence in teaching, research and service. As a part of this dynamic faculty the School of Pharmacy was established in 2000 and has built a world standard pharmacy programme.

The opportunity:

Following the retirement of our current Academic Director, we are now seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of Professional Teaching Fellow/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor. As Academic Director you will lead the implementation of the School’s re-invigorated undergraduate curriculum. You will work with an innovative team who are focussed on ensuring that Auckland’s BPharm remains at the forefront of pharmacy education.

Requirements:

This is a leadership role in which you will be responsible for all aspects of academic management for the undergraduate programme. As such we will look to you for contributing to the strategic direction of both education and education research in the School and the Faculty. Successful candidates can convincingly demonstrate management experience as well as curriculum design underpinned by educational theory.

Furthermore you will lead the development, delivery and evaluation of the undergraduate curriculum of the BPharm programme and develop a successful personal research programme in pharmacy education and/or pharmacy practice.

This is a full time, permanent academic position. It is envisaged that this position will be split approximately 50% Academic Director duties: 50% Teaching/Research duties.

Enquiries of an academic nature should be directed to Dr Jeff Harrison, telephone +64-9-373 7599 ext. 82144, or email jeff.harrison@auckland.ac.nz
