Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) invites applications for up to two full-time, 9.5 month, Assistant/Associate Professor positions in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at its satellite campus near Burlington, VT.

The department’s research is focused on exploration and modulation of epigenetic targets. To complement existing strengths in structural biology of histone-related proteins, chemical biology of sirtuins, and membrane transport, we seek candidates with expertise in computational drug design or molecular/cellular biology.

Qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in chemistry, pharmaceutics, molecular or cellular biology, pharmacology or a related discipline with relevant postdoctoral experience.
Successful candidates will be strongly committed to excellence in teaching in the Pharm.D. and graduate programs, and positioned to establish/continue an extramurally-funded research program and participate in a sustained, collaborative research program. Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills are required. Preferred research orientations are the structure-based development of epigenetic drug candidates using atomistic simulations or the investigation of epigenetic mechanisms at the cellular level.

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences:
The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences operates across two campuses: one in Albany, New York and the other in Colchester, Vermont. It is composed of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and two Departments of Pharmaceutical Sciences (one on each campus). In addition to the PharmD program, the School administers BS and MS degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Approximately 1,300 students are enrolled at the College’s main campus located in the heart of the Capital District in Albany, New York, and approximately 200 students are enrolled at the satellite campus in Colchester, Vermont.
