A full-time, 2-year post-doctoral research fellowship position in the group of A/Prof. Alexandre Chan is available at the Department of Pharmacy at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

The fellow will join a multidisciplinary research program of cancer supportive care, survivorship care and toxicities management, with a focus on chemotherapy-associated cognitive impairment. The focus of this fellowship is to develop the candidate’s ability to conduct clinical research in cancer supportive care.

Research responsibilities include development of research protocols, grant writing, data collection in clinical areas, data analysis in the laboratory, biostatistics, manuscript preparation and submission. Fellows will also supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students. Didactic lecturing opportunities are available, depending on the candidate’s career interest.

Qualifications

Hold a doctoral degree or be in the final stage of completing doctoral study in a relevant field of health sciences including pharmacy, medicine and public health.

Previous intensive research experience in the clinical setting, and a good track record of own research.

Expertise and experience in biomarker detection and discovery from human tissues and fluids strongly preferred.

Able to conduct statistical analysis using statistical softwares including SPSS, STATA or R.

A meticulous worker and able to work independently; strong communication skills with the ability to function as a critical role within a multidisciplinary team
