The College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, at the University of Kentucky is seeking an Assistant Professor. The position will complement and extend the current conceptual and technical expertise in medicinal chemistry in the Center for Pharmaceutical Research and Innovation. This is a non-tenure track position in which a successful candidate must have sufficient funds to support salary and benefits.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in organic chemistry and at least three years of additional experience as a postdoctoral fellow in an academic setting. Candidates must have broad expertise in medicinal chemistry as evidenced by work experience in industry and by numerous >10) publications in peer-reviewed journals related to medicinal chemistry. Candidates must have experience and a publication record that involves at least two therapeutic areas among the following three areas: cancer, infectious diseases, and neurological dysfunctions. Candidates must have a record suggesting an ability to lead an independent research effort through their experience supervising either students or technicians and possess the ability to constructively communicate and collaborate with others. Candidates must also demonstrate a command of skills necessary to prepare research manuscripts, to prepare grant applications and to present their research accomplishments in a public forum.
