The University of Kansas Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department invites candidates to submit applications for postdoctoral researcher. Successful candidates will conduct research related to the following fields: biochemistry and biophysics of proteins, nuclear acids and/or lipids

*Job Description
80% -Required to perform research based on a specified area of study, Biochemistry, Biophysics or Biophysical Chemistry.
15%-Participate in activities of the laboratory including participation in scientific seminars, collaboration, and presentation of scholarly work in appropriate settings.
5%-Other duties as assigned.

*Required Qualifications
Ph.D in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics or Biophysical Chemistry.

NOTE: To be appointed at the Postdoctoral Researcher title it is necessary to have the PhD in hand. Appointments made without a diploma or certified transcript indicating an earned doctorate are conditional hires and are appointed on an interim basis not to exceed 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong background in biophysics or physical biochemistry including spectroscopy CCD, fluorescence, FTIR, Raman, DSC etc.
  • Experience with a variety of analytical techniques
  • Publications or other evidence of scholarly achievement
  • Evidence of existing scientific collaborations
