Job Purpose
The Clinical Assistant Professor is a professional and academic position with responsibilities for both clinical education and service. Clinical faculty may participate in training students in various clinical settings and conduct site visits.
Main accountabilities & expectations
- Teach didactic PharmD courses and supervise PharmD students in clinical training.
- Grade students' exams, assignments, and coursework for PharmD courses.
- Engage in research projects related to Clinical Pharmacy and patient care.
- Participate in university and community services.
- Actively participate in college courses, student training, and tutorial activities.
- Provide professional supervision during onsite training.
SKILLS
- Experience in student training programs.
- A record of 2-3 publications in SCOPUS-indexed journals within the last 3 years.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both speaking and writing) is essential.
- Excellent communication skills in Arabic (speaking and writing) will be a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
1. Hold both PGY1 and PGY2 from a U.S. accredited university plus one year of post-PharmD experience in a clinical or academic setting, OR
2. Hold a PhD degree in Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences or an equivalent field plus one of the following:
a) At least three years of clinical teaching experience (as a clinical preceptor) at the university level.
b) Pharmacotherapy Board Certification.
c) A minimum of three years of clinical experience (providing patient care services) in reputable hospitals after obtaining the PharmD degree.
