The School of Pharmacy at Western New England College invites applications for full-time, tenure-track faculty positions, in the Department of Pharmaceutical and Administrative Sciences, at the levels of Assistant/Associate/Professor in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutics.
The hiring rank will be commensurate with the qualifications of the applicant.
These 12 month positions offer an exciting opportunity to be inaugural members of an integrated and innovative learner-centered academic program.
The School of Pharmacy which will be housed in a new facility, will enroll a founding class of approximately 70 professional students in the Fall of 2011, pending appropriate approvals.
The successful candidate should possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, a desire to create a culture of academic success and an entrepreneurial spirit.
The Department will consist of approximately 12 faculty from the various disciplines.
Qualified individuals should have doctorate degrees in the appropriate discipline or related field.
A B.S. in Pharmacy or a Pharm.D. degree would be an asset, but is not required for these positions.
Prior experience as a faculty member at a school or college of Pharmacy is desirable, as is demonstrated strength in teaching at the higher education level.
Postdoctoral experience in the relevant discipline for candidates for the Assistant Professor level is preferred.
Areas of expertise in each discipline may include, but are not limited, to the following:
Medicinal Chemistry: Computer-assisted Drug Design, QSAR, Biochemistry, Pharmacognosy or Drug Metabolism.
Pharmacology: Immunology, Genomics/Pharmacogenomics, Toxicology or Pathophysiology.
Pharmaceutics: Biopharmaceutics, Pharmacokinetics, Bioengineering and Biomolecular Engineering.
