Job Description:
The University of New England is seeking applications and nominations for a faculty position in its College of Pharmacy, located in Portland, Maine.

Our first professional class began its inaugural year in Fall 2009 and we are currently planning for the development of a graduate program as part of our research mission.

The faculty position is a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track appointment.

Responsibilities:
Teaching in the Doctor of Pharmacy program; development of the graduate curriculum; scholarly activity; and, the establishment and/or maintenance of an active, extramurally funded research program are expected of all Pharmaceutical Sciences faculty.

The research component of UNE’s Pharmacy Program will focus on pharmacometrics, individualized medicine, drug analysis and bridging the gap between basic discovery and clinical drug development.

Evidence for a candidate’s multidisciplinary research interests and an ability to cross traditional divisions between disciplines will be a definite plus.

Past experience in pre-clinical and/or clinical drug development is an advantage.

Preference will be given to candidates with an established track record of extramural funding and current support.

The educational program will be delivered through a process of engaged teaching and learning in a new, modern, 48,000 square foot building, that will provide a comfortable environment for faculty, students and staff to interact.

Opportunities for interdisciplinary education exist with the faculty in the College of Health Professions.

The College offers a competitive salary and benefits, a generous relocation package and a substantial tuition reduction for children of UNE faculty and staff.

Benefits information may be found on the Human Resources website, at:

http://www.une.edu/hr/benefits.asp

Interested individuals may submit:
  • a letter of inquiry, describing their professional goals and the professional experiences that they feel will establish their qualifications for the position;
  • a current CV; and,
  • a list of at least 3 professional references (no contact will be made with references until an interview visit to UNE has been scheduled and with the prior knowledge of the applicant).
