The school invites applications for a faculty position in the Department of Health Outcomes and Administrative Sciences in the tenure track.
The successful candidate should demonstrate statistical and/or methodological expertise in quantitative approaches to understanding human health and disease. Potential research expertise can include health outcomes or epidemiology including use of health care data such as electronic medical records/electronic health records (EMR/EHR), large clinical and biomarker data sets, or clinical trials data. The candidate should possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and a strong commitment to scholarship and teaching both in a pharmacy degree program, and in a developing Ph.D. program.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
Develop and sustain a vigorous research program that will obtain external funding.
Provide teaching that includes coordination and delivery of a required didactic Biostatistics course for first-year pharmacy students, teaching and coordination duties in other departmental courses in the PharmD curriculum such as: Population Health and Study Design Evaluation, Public Health and Global Health Problems or other related courses.
Provide research mentorship to PharmD students in related areas of health outcomes research including PharmD student capstone research projects.
Demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence through teaching, research and participating in service activities at the School and University levels, as appropriate.
Support and participate in the school’s culture of assessment.
Demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of students, faculty, and staff and an inclusive academic environment.
Applicants must have earned a PhD, DrPH, ScD, MPH or a PharmD with additional training in an appropriate field of study, have demonstrated potential for success in scholarship and teaching, and be eligible for appointment at the Assistant Professor Level. Applicants having experience in conducting research using quantitative or mixed methods are preferred as are candidates who have either completed post-doctoral research training or have prior experience in health care related programs. Candidates will need to have completed their degrees by August 1, 2021.
