The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences within the College of Pharmacy at Mercer University, located in Atlanta GA, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Rank to be determined based on the credentials of the selected candidate. The incumbent will hold a twelve-month appointment with responsibilities in teaching, research and service. Teaching responsibilities will include topics broadly related to the pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences within both the Pharm.D. and Ph.D. programs. Administrative responsibilities will include service needs at the Department and College levels.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. from an accredited college/university in pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical or biomedical sciences, or a closely related discipline, preferably within a college of pharmacy. A post-doctoral research fellowship or its equivalent is required, and an established record of success in publication and research funding is highly desired for consideration at the Assistant Professor level. For consideration at the Associate rank, a proven record of accomplishment and current extramural funding is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Preference will be given to those with a pharmacy background, and research focus on drug delivery systems. Candidates need to establish an independent extramurally funded research program.
The College of Pharmacy is located on Mercer University’s Cecil B. Day Graduate and Professional campus in Atlanta, GA, and is one of the four academic units within the Mercer University Health Sciences Center.
