Western New England University seeks a creative, entrepreneurial, and visionary leader to serve as the Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Reporting directly to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean is responsible for providing leadership and vision in the strategic planning and implementation of programs within the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences as exemplified in the College Strategic Plan.
The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, offers Pharm.D. as well as the Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD). There is also a joint degree offering for the Pharm.D/MBA with the College of Business.
The Dean is responsible for faculty development and evaluation and general matters related to the continuing well-being of the college and its faculty, staff, and students. The Dean will also work cooperatively to strengthen interdisciplinary programs offered collaboratively with the other academic units at the University (Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Engineering, and Business and the School of Law). Finally, the successful candidate will also lead ongoing accreditation efforts as well as advocate for the College with local, state, and regional stakeholders as well as with alumni.
Candidates should have a terminal degree in pharmacy or a related field with an academic record that makes them appointable at the level of full professor; should have a record of accomplishment in a leadership role in higher education; should demonstrate commitment to teaching and research; and should be ready to fully engage on a leadership team that values collaboration, innovation, and commitment to excellence.
