The Pharmaceutical Outcomes & Policy Department invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The recipient will also have a leadership role in the newly founded Center for Drug Evaluation and Safety (CoDES; The Department’s focus in research and graduate training is centered on the evaluation of drugs and related medical technology. This focus includes classic pharmacoepidemiologic work in drug safety and comparative effectiveness, pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research, as well as pharmaceutical health services research. The mission of CoDES is to improve public health by enhancing and disseminating evidence on the safety and value of medication use in real-world populations. In addition to delivering new actionable evidence, CoDES fosters the development of new methods and analytic tools to enhance drug evaluation and regulatory science.

Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. degree or similar academic training in Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research or a related field. Appointment requires demonstration of sustained extramural grant support and excellence in research, scholarship, and teaching that is consistent with appointment to rank of an Associate or Full Professor at a research-intensive university.

The College of Pharmacy, which ranks among the top ten colleges of pharmacy in the nation, is located at the main campus of the University of Florida, the flagship AAU institution of the State of Florida. The College is based in one of the largest integrated academic health centers in the country, with Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health and Health Professions, and Veterinary Medicine, as well as UF Health and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, situated on a campus serving over 50,000 students. The growing department consists of 11 full-time faculty in addition to affiliated faculty. It has an internationally recognized residential graduate program with about 30 PhD students and a growing online MS program with 150+ students. The department’s research infrastructure is supported by the newly-founded Center for Drug Evaluation and Safety, or CoDES (, which facilitates research collaborations in real-world populations using a variety of big data sources.
