Position Summary
The Director of On-Line Programs will lead the development, implementation, marketing, and evaluation of on-line MS and BS programs in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPPS). The Director, who will have a clinical-track faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience, will report to the Dean and will work closely with the School’s executive team, faculty and other academic and technology team members on all matters relating to on-line program development and delivery.

Major areas of responsibility include:
Develop implementation strategy for aggressive program growth and timeline to transition select SPPS graduate programs (MS, BS-MS) to on-line format.
Work with subject matter experts, faculty, and program directors to create high- quality on-line course content and ensure that SPPS on-line programs provide the highest level of future-focused training for our students.
Guide faculty in the development of their on-line curriculum and ongoing course revisions.
Work with faculty to create realistic objectives for learning.
Recommend changes to existing courses, including technology or instructional methods, to ensure courses align with accreditation standards.
Analyze courses to ensure they meet or exceed institutional standards, and provide reports as needed.
Oversee course syllabus creation and updating.
Apply tested instructional design theories, practices and methods.
Assist in the development of assessments that can be used to measure student progress throughout the course of study.
Coordinate with the Directors of Graduate Studies and the Associate Dean for Graduate Education in strategically planning on-line course developments and managing timelines for efficient program implementation.
Assist SPPS School wide assessment efforts as they relate to on-line graduate education.
Remain aware of all emerging instructional technologies and make recommendations about when to adopt certain systems to continue to offer the best learning experience possible.

Professional Development Requirements:
Knowledge of instructional design theories and practices
Experience with reviewing and creating curriculum and learning outcomes
Experience with creating accessible, interactive content

Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related discipline.
Experience in successfully implementing on-line programming in a STEM discipline at the BS or MS level.
Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, customer service, and project management skills.
