Drug Discovery/Target Validation – Tenure leading position / Rank DOQ

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the College of Pharmacy, University of Nebraska Medical Center (Omaha, NE) invites applications for a tenure leading faculty position (open rank) in drug discovery. While a research program in therapeutic target validation using cutting-edge techniques (e.g., pluripotent stem cell programming and gene editing) is of particular interest, all applications in the broadly defined field of drug discovery are welcome. The candidate should have a PhD and postdoctoral experience. The ideal candidate is expected to establish a dynamic, cutting-edge, externally funded research program and actively participate in graduate training. The College is currently ranked 3rd in the U.S. among U.S. pharmacy schools in NIH research support per faculty member and 10th overall. The Department is a highly collaborative environment and the candidate will be expected to foster collaborations with faculty members within the College of Pharmacy and the wider UNMC campus. In addition, teaching within the professional program (PharmD) as well as teaching and graduate course development in the area of research expertise is expected.

All highly qualified applicants will be considered. The search committee will begin evaluation of applications on November 1, 2018, and will continue until the position is filled. Interested candidates should submit an electronic application which includes a cover letter, curriculum vitae with names and addresses of three individuals willing to provide letters of recommendation and a detailed description of their research plans at For questions concerning this position, please contact our departmental administrator at Individuals from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
