    A Level C academic is expected to make significant contributions to the teaching effort of a discipline, school, faculty or other organisational unit or an interdisciplinary area. An academic at this level is also expected to play a major role in scholarship, research and/or professional activities.


    The key result areas of Research, Teaching and Engagement are the basis for the primary duties and responsibilities of the role. A workload will be agreed upon annually with the Head of School during the Performance Development Plan process. Other duties may be required from time to time as directed by the Head of School.


    Reporting Line: The position reports to the Associate Professor

    Key Responsibilities



    1. Contribute to curriculum development, innovation, enhancement and quality assurance in the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum.

    2. Develop and deliver innovative and excellent teaching, learning and assessment experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

    3. Conduct high-quality research, maintaining an active record of publications and building a profile of grants and PhD student supervision.

    4. Support the development and implementation of a research strategy for the School of Pharmacy consistent with the research priorities of Monash University Malaysia and Monash University.

    5. Participate in collaborations with other universities and with government, industry and/or civil society to drive research impact and educational excellence.

    6. Support the management of education, research and/or administration in the School through, for example, participation in committees.

    7. Obtain external research grants and other income-generating programs and collaborative partnerships.

    8. Undertake administrative responsibilities primarily connected with the units taught, including course review, admission and accreditation processes.


     


    Key selection criteria


    Education/Qualifications



    1. A doctoral qualification (PhD) or equivalent qualification.

    2. Demonstrated ability to teach in a university environment.

    3. Demonstrated ability to produce excellent research and supervision of Undergraduate/Honours/Postgraduate students.

    4. Demonstrated ability to work with partners in universities, government and/or civil society.

    5. Demonstrated skills and experience in collaboration and teamwork.

    6. A professional pharmacist qualification or undergraduate degree in pharmacy is required.

    7. Proven ability, commitment and passion for engaging in scholarly and research activities/projects


     


    Other job-related information



    1. Travel to other campuses of the University may be required.

    2. There may be a requirement to work additional hours from time to time.

    3. There may be peak periods of work during which taking leave may be restricted.
