    Position Summary


    The University at Buffalo (UB) School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPPS) Department of Pharmacy Practice, Division of Outcomes and Practice Advancement is seeking a clinical-track (qualified rank), 12-month faculty member at the assistant or associate professor rank, with expertise in inpatient acute care pharmacy.

    Responsibilities:



      • Teaching:



     


    The faculty member will be expected to coordinate and teach content in their area of expertise. The faculty member will be expected to maintain a clinical practice site focused on transitions of care, where they will train IPPE students, APPE students, and postgraduate residents/fellows. It is estimated that experiential and didactic teaching will represent 85% effort during year 1 (70% experiential + 15% didactic), 80% effort during years 2-3 (60% experiential + 20% didactic), and 70% effort thereon (40% experiential + 30% didactic).


    • Research/Scholarship:


    The faculty member will advance the research mission of the UB SPPS. They will engage in collaborative research while developing an independent research program in their area of expertise and will publish/present their work nationally/internationally. It is estimated that research/scholarship will represent 10% effort during year 1, 15% effort during years 2-3, and 20% effort thereon.


    • Service:


    The faculty member will serve the Department, School, and University as agreed to with the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Division Head for Outcomes and Practice Advancement. This will include, but is not limited to, active participation on committees, PharmD student admissions reviews/interviews, student advising, and mentoring of postgraduate residents and fellows. It is estimated that research/scholarship will represent 5% effort during years 1-3, and 10% effort during year 3.

    Minimum Qualifications


    A Doctor of Pharmacy degree; a minimum of two years of postdoctoral training.



    Preferred Qualifications


    BCPS or other relevant BPS certification.

    Candidates must have a track record of research support and peer reviewed publications commensurate with appointment faculty rank.
