POSITION PURPOSE A Level B academic is expected to make contributions to the teaching effort of the university and to carry out activities to maintain and develop her/his scholarly, research and/or professional activities relevant to the profession or discipline.
The key result areas of Research, Teaching and Engagement are the basis for the primary duties and responsibilities of the role. A workload will be agreed annually with the Head of School during the Performance Development Plan process. Other duties may be required from time to time as directed by the Head of School.
Reporting Line: The position reports to a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Contribute to curriculum development, innovation, enhancement and quality assurance in the undergraduate and postgraduate units. 2. Deliver innovative and excellent teaching, learning and assessment experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students. 3. Conduct original research, develop an active record of high-quality publications in the field and build a profile of grants and research student supervision. 4. Participate in collaborations with other universities and with government, industry and/or civil society to drive research impact and educational excellence. 5. Support the management of education, research and/or administration in the School through, for example, participation in committees. 6. Undertake administrative responsibilities primarily connected with the units taught, including course review, admission, and accreditation processes.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA 1. A doctoral qualification (PhD) or equivalent qualification in pharmaceutical/medicinal chemistry. 2. Demonstrated ability to teach pharmaceutical chemistry and broadly pharmaceutical science in a university environment. 3. Demonstrated ability to produce excellent research and supervision of undergraduate/Honours/graduate students. 4. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with partners in universities, government and/or civilsociety. 5. Demonstrated skills and experience in collaboration and teamwork. 6. Proven ability, commitment and passion for engaging in scholarly and research activities/projects. 7. A pharmacy qualification is an added advantage. 8. An experience/understanding of global and Australian higher education in pharmacy and pharmaceutical science is an added advantage.
