The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York is seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to carry out neuropsychopharmacology research. The selected candidate will be responsible for carrying out research that focuses on drug discovery of cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE2, 4 and 9) inhibitors for treatment of depression, anxiety and aging-related learning and memory deficits.
The Postdoctoral Associate will be engaged in the research focusing on assessment of phosphodiesterase (PDE) 2 and 4D as a novel target for neuropsychiatric indications in treatment of depression, neuropathic pain and Alzheimer’s disease related memory deficits using a translational mouse-model approach.
The successful candidate should possess a Ph.D and/or M.D. degree in biomedical, neuroscience, neuropsychopharmacology or related field and have published scholarly articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals. He/she should have strong written and oral communication skills and research background in behavioral and molecular pharmacology. Experience with behavioral tests, primary neuronal culture and neural tissue histology are desired. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience.
