The School of Pharmacy at Queen's has been ranked 4th in the UK for Pharmacy and Pharmacology according to the Guardian University Guide 2019.
We are recruiting for a Research Assistant who will join a research group led by Prof Ryan Donnelly who are developing and characterising new types of implantable devices for prolonged drug delivery. The Research Assistant will manufacture long-acting drug delivery systems, including nanosuspensions/nanocrystal formulations and solid implantable devices and carry out critical evaluations, analyses and interpretations using methodologies and other techniques appropriate to area of research, including: FTIR, DSC, TGA, SEM and HPLC.
The successful Research Assistant must have:
Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification
At least 1 year's recent, relevant research experience developing long-acting drug delivery systems, including implantable devices or nanoparticle formulations.
Experience developing new formulation methods for pharmaceutical products.
Experience in the preparation and characterisation of solid drug delivery systems.
Experience working with bead milling, spray-drying and high pressure homogenisation for formulation development.
