Job description
Applications are invited for the position of Head of School of Pharmacy at Queen's University Belfast. Reporting to the Pro Vice Chancellor in the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences the Head of School will work with Directors of Research and Education to provide leadership and set the strategic direction of the School. The successful candidate
will represent the School and University nationally and internationally and will be fully responsible for the management of all devolved financial, physical and human resources, as well as for corporate governance and quality assurance.
The Head of School will play a key role in the Faculty Executive Board, providing leadership and management in the School and advocacy within the University establish and maintain an environment of excellence which enables education and research to flourish, and facilitates and encourages the development of all staff.
The Head of School will:
Have a substantial record of achievement in leading and managing academic activity;
Have a strong academic record and a recognised research or professional profile in one or more of the disciplines represented within the School;
Sustained record of playing a leading role in successful bids for competitive, peer-reviewed national or international grants or other awards as Principal Investigator, as appropriate to the discipline;
Have an established record of successful teaching
The School of Pharmacy at Queen's is acknowledged as a leading centre for Pharmacy teaching and research in the UK.
