Summary of Position
This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) appointment that will manage, develop, and facilitate creation of continuing professional development, college-based residency training, and student exchange educational offerings by The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy with local to global partners. The Director of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) will collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance and provide support for CPD offerings, international training, and residency programs. The Director will be part of the Pharmacy Practice and Science division with reporting to the Associate Dean for Outreach and Engagement; they will supervise administrative support personnel affiliated with the programs. The Director will also work closely with Director of Experiential Education, Director of Alumni and Constituent Engagement, The Ohio State University (OSU) Wexner Medical Center, residents and Residency Program Directors, as well as pharmacists in the professional community to develop and provide exceptional pre- and post-graduate educational opportunities that support the continuing advancement of the pharmacy profession.

Breakdown of duties
30% Serves as the Continuing Education (CE) Provider through the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy; Develops and delivers structured, ongoing offerings; Facilitates creation of continuing professional education for pharmacists, students, and non-pharmacists; Collaborates with internal and external partners to provide CE to pharmacists; Works with the Office of Experiential Education to organize, implement and support delivery of preceptor development programs; Provides oversight to a CE Advisory Committee that serves to provide guidance on the educational mission and focus on CE programming
30% Serves as college-based lead for PGY1/PGY2 community-based pharmacy practice residency programs, including accreditation, stakeholder relations, and resident support; Serve as liaison from college to Residency Program Directors and OSU Wexner Medical Center programs
20% Manages relationships related to clinical practice advancement with global partners; Facilitates new and supports existing global partnerships through faculty, programs, and the college of pharmacy; Works with the Office of Experiential Education and OSU Wexner Medical Center to coordinate and optimize international training opportunities.
20% Teaches elective courses that support international education endeavors, including videoconferences with Taiwan and medical outreach programs. |
