Expertise: Dr. Dongwen Lyu (Lv)’s research focuses on two major directions. The first direction is investigation of the cellular and molecular mechanisms of aging and aging related diseases and discovery of new senolytic drugs which can selectively kill senescent cells. The second direction is further elucidating the molecular mechanism of proteolysis targeting chimeras (PROTACs) that can target proteins of interest for degradation via the ubiquitination and proteasome system and design of more potent and safer PROTACs to selectively kill senescent cells and cancer cells.
