Position Summary:
The Center for Anti-Infective Research and Development at Hartford Hospital has a long-standing history of performing cutting edge research in Infectious Diseases and has offered post-doctorate training programs in Infectious Diseases Pharmacotherapy since 1978. The Center participates in all aspects of anti-infective research, including preclinical pharmacology of novel compounds as well as clinical pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and outcomes research studies of currently available antibiotics.
A two-year post-doctoral training (fellowship) at the Center for Anti-Infective Research and Development at Hartford Hospital is offered with special emphasis on clinical pharmacokinetics and antimicrobial pharmacodynamics. The fellow’s principle responsibility will be research, which encompasses in-vitro/in-vivo pharmacodynamic modeling, animal models of infection, healthy volunteer pharmacokinetic studies, and phase I-IV clinical research. Training in Infectious Diseases clinical practice issues and antibiotic management will be received. The fellow will also gain experience in protocol development, grant attainment, study management, as well as the publication of scientific literature.

Requirements:
The minimum requirement is a Pharm.D., PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacometrics, microbiology or a related field, or an equivalent degree. Selection of the post-doc/fellow is based on the application progress, which includes submission of letter of intent, curriculum vitae, three letters of reference and a personal interview.
Salary:
$51,895 (1st year), $53,451 (2nd year)
