    Responsibilities:

    Administrative Leadership and Service:
The OPA Division Head will lead a multidisciplinary team of world-class faculty, driving change at the convergence of practice and education, where practitioners, educators, and scholars work alongside each other to implement and evaluate innovations in healthcare delivery and education. In this role, the Head will interface with the SPPS Dean, Department Chairs, Heads of the Divisions of Education/Teaching Innovation and Clinical/Translational Therapeutics, Assistant/Associate Deans, Directors, faculty and staff, and practice-site leadership to advance the schools mission and vision. The Head will have the support of two Directors, each overseeing elements of the SPPS Strategic Plan, and the Department Administrator who is responsible for supervising professional staff and managing departmental initiatives. The Head will serve as a member of the department and school executive committees, and will be responsible for driving realization of strategic initiatives assigned to OPA, including implementing innovative pharmacy practice models; advancing collaborative practice and patient-care experiences for students; improving population-based healthcare and decision making; advocating for advancement of the profession in collaboration with state and national pharmacy associations; and, leading and supporting health outcomes and clinical research. Research/Scholarship:
The faculty member will advance the research mission of the UB SPPS. They will engage in collaborative research while developing an independent research program in their area of expertise and will publish/present their work nationally/internationally. It is estimated that research/scholarship will represent 20-40% of the faculty members effort distribution, which is negotiable and track-dependent.

    Pharmacy Practice:
Clinical-track faculty serving in the role of Division Head will be expected to maintain a shared clinical practice site. It is estimated that practice will represent 10-20% of the faculty members effort distribution, which is negotiable and track-dependent.
