Dr. Kang's research interests are in the areas of infectious diseases, focusing on antimicrobial use and resistance. She is interested in identifying risk factors of patients that may respond poorly to standard therapies and optimizing antibiotic utilization for serious infections such as bacteremia and highly resistant infections including extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL) producing enterobacteriaceae. Throughout her pharmacy career, Dr. Kang has been heavily involved in designing and conducting various clinical studies, serving as a clinical research coordinator at LLU and St. Jude Hospital. Dr. Kang has presented her research findings at numerous conferences at the state, national, and international level.
